Tim and Katrina deWit and family have been raising organic turkey for Yorkshire Valley Farms since 2011 on their farm just West of the town Embro, Ont.

In addition to organic turkey, they grow organic corn, soybeans, wheat, and hay and run a flock of 200 ewes. The lamb on the deWit's farm are naturally raised and are primarily fed from areas of their farm that cannot grow field crops, and cover crops planted after field crops are harvested.

Tim deWit's philosophy is very wholistic, with livestock providing fertilization, no antibiotic use on the animals, and no chemicals applied to the fields. “It’s good for the environment and overall, livestock and human health,” he says.
